Migrant Violence Growing in Sweden

Planning a trip to Sweden this summer? The Nordic country is famed for majestic vistas where snow-studded mountains plunge into magnificent fjords. Tourism is important to Sweden, bringing in revenues that account for 2.9 percent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) which is three times greater than that of the important national mining industry.

But tourists visiting Sweden today may be shocked by certain conditions there which are upsetting the natives. Notably, the nation’s open and welcoming immigration policy has resulted in a rise in violent crimes committed by some of these newcomers, many who came from war-torn African countries:

“In 2015, a record-breaking 162,877 asylum seekers entered Sweden, which along with Germany was the preferred destination for a wave of Syrians, Afghans, and others who reached European soil in search of protection and better lives.”

In 2018, the U.S. Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) reported that “The U.S. Department of State has assessed Stockholm as being a MEDIUM-threat location for terrorist activity directed at or affecting official U.S. government interests.”

The 2018 OSAC report indicated that militant Muslims are responsible, according to the National Center for Terrorist Threat Assessment (NCT), a permanent working group within the Swedish Counter-Terrorism Cooperation Council:

“The greatest terrorist threat to Sweden, according to the NCT, is Islamist extremism. Sweden is regarded as a legitimate but not prioritized target for terrorist attacks by violence-promoting Islamists. There are operatives who have the intent and capability to carry out terrorist attacks.”

The 2019 OSAC report assigned “moderate risk from terrorism in Stockholm,” Sweden’s capital city. Violent Islamist attacks do not seem organized to target the government:

“Sweden’s political engagement abroad has not fostered homegrown domestic terrorist groups with a clear mandate/agenda to target Swedish infrastructure or government. However, the U.S. Embassy recognizes the possibility that unaffiliated/autonomous groups may conduct terrorist attacks.”

The U.S. Sweden Travel Advisory is at Level 1: Exercise normal precautions. Following are some recent examples of what has been going on in Sweden:

On June 10, 2019, shortly after 10:10am, Swedish police shot and arrested a man at the central train station in the city of Malmö which has been a surge in terrorist-style attacks in recent years. Witnesses said the man, who has not yet been identified, had a “sharp accent.”

Bystanders ignored the screaming man, believing him mentally disturbed, until he claimed he had bags containing weapons and explosives and threatened to blow up the building. The man threw one bag to the ground. Police officers arrived and pursued the fleeing man, stopping his flight by shooting him in the leg several times. The injured perpetrator was taken to a hospital and the train station was closed for several hours during the incident.

The police bomb squad detonated the two bags the man had been carrying at around 11:30am. Although initial examinations of the bags’ contents by police personnel appeared to confirm that they contained neither weapons nor explosive material, Per-Olof Söyseth, the police commander in charge of investigating the train bomb threat, said it was not possible to rule out a terrorist attack:

“As long as we cannot rule out that it is a terrorist case, we work according to that principle.”

The Malmö train station bomb threat incident happened three days after a massive explosion ripped apart two adjacent five-story apartment buildings in Linköping, a peaceful university town in southern Sweden. Windows and balconies were blown out in a disaster scene described by the local press as a “war zone” or the sort of chaos expected after a “meteorite strike.”

Witnesses said that the force of the blast lifted cars and their own bodies off the ground. At least 25 people were confirmed injured and 20 ambulances sped to the scene. The bomb squad arrived to investigate. About 250 apartments were damaged in the blast.

Asa Willsund, speaking for the police, said that whatever blew up the apartment building was set intentionally with criminal intent. However, terrorism was quickly ruled out:

“There is nothing that indicates that this incident is terror-related, we do not see that.”

In early June, three explosions were detonated in Malmö alone. In the first three months of 2019, 48 blasts were reported.

The rise in explosions has been attributed to “conflicts between warring criminal gangs.”

The 10 million residents of Sweden are bewildered by their government’s failure to step in with firm action against the rising tide of migrant violence. So, if you plan to visit the beautiful fjords and Viking museums, prepare to be amazed – and, possibly, terrorized.

  1. Swedes are getting what they asked for by allowing these scum of the earth muslims to come to their country. Muslims do not fit in anywhere except in their own countries where they can slash each other’s throats to their hearts desires. They are trash!

    • You are absolutely correct! Muslims are the scum of the earth and these idiots here, better known as the dumbocrats and socialists want for this country to have open borders and are protecting the illegals. If these European countries want to accept these terrorists, they can have them!

    • THIS SAME PROBLEM HAS COME TO AMERICA AND IS DESTROYING MANY NATIONS BY ALLOWING THESE ILLEGALS INTO OUR NATIONS WE WORKED HARD TO BUILD

  2. Do not expect the Dems to have a realization and come to their senses! Their priorities are their pockets!

  3. The Mohamadians are coming, they are here, in Europe, it is deplorable, to the Jews and Christians have not learned from WWII, it is getting and worse now than any other time.

    • It is a tragedy that is happening all over the world Opening up borders thinking this will help has been proven not so. The world is careening towardWW3 and politicians still playing their games. Really scary.

  4. I spend hundreds of thousand dollars when I go on vacation. Sweden is not getting one penny. You figure it out….

  5. This makes me so sad. Sweden is such a beautiful country, with beautiful, peaceful people. Governments all over the world have become nothing but atheist globalists, whose goal is the New World Order. Divide and conquer, then when the people are in a weakened position, they come in for the kill. Control the healthcare, education, take our guns away so we cannot defend ourselves, and have open borders. And now the US has not learned from what is happening in London and Sweden, so we could rightfully come to the conclusion that this is what they want as well. May God help us!

  6. Sad that these countries tout open borders at their own expense of violence and crime. These immigrants to not assimilate to the countries who take them in. They simply bring the violence and hatred into the country they go to. (OMAR…a great example)

  7. There are cities in the United States that tourists should be leery of visiting as well; cities like L.A., San Francisco, Portland OR, and Seattle.
