With all of the recent focus on the explosive phone call between President Trump and the president of Ukraine, it may have gotten lost in the headlines that former national security adviser Michael Flynn has pleaded “the fifth” rather than testify and be badgered by Adam Schiff.
The attorney for retired Army Gen. Michael Flynn has refused to let the former national security adviser testify before Rep. Adam B. Schiff, saying the California Democrat disregards “ethics in your theatrical demand” for him to testify.
Attorney Sidney Powell said in a letter sent to The House Intelligence Committee, that Flynn is invoking his rights under the Fifth Amendment to avoid being “paraded, harassed or disparaged” by Democrats on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
Given the way Schiff and his fellow Democrats in the House have been doing that all day to Acting DNI Joseph. Maguire, Flynn seems to have made the right decision!
Representative Schiff, who took control of the Committee in January has shown nothing but disdain for President Trump, having launched an investigation into nearly every aspect of the President’s life.
Schiff made it no secret that he was a big proponent of the Democratic Party-financed dossier sourced to the Kremlin, which was used in large part to initiate the Mueller Probe. The so-called “Steele Dossier” has now been proven to be mostly false.
Flynn’s attorney Powell is mounting a vigorous effort in federal court to dismiss the case against her client, who pleaded guilty to lying to FBI agents in the Trump White House’s early days. Powell accuses the Robert Mueller prosecution team of withholding evidence favorable to her client, as her grounds for dismissal.
