This is certainly an interesting development, former President Barack Obama is no longer the only POTUS who can say “I killed Bin Laden.”

There are confirmed reports that President Donald J. Trump has sent Hamza bin Laden, to meet his maker, or at least his father somewhere in hell.

A White House statement issued last week has confirmed that the son of former Al Qaeda leader and 9/11 mastermind Usama bin Laden, has been killed by US forces in a raid ordered by President Trump himself.

The statement released three days after the 18th anniversary of the September 11 terror attacks, said Hamza, a high-ranking Al Qaeda member, “was killed in a United States counterterrorism operation in the Afghanistan/Pakistan region.”

“The loss of Hamza bin Laden not only deprives Al Qaeda of important leadership skills and the symbolic connection to his father but undermines important operational activities of the group,” the statement continued. “Hamza bin Laden was responsible for planning and dealing with various terrorist groups.”

It was unclear when the operation took place. The White House statement gave no further details. However, rumors of Hamza’s death began circulating in July. President Trump and US officials had refused to confirm or deny Hamza bin Laden’s death until the statement of September 14th.

Brett Bruen, former White House director of global engagements, told Fox News last month that the death of Bin Laden’s son would be a “big brand hit for extremists.”

“Bin Laden’s son was heir to the throne. Even if he didn’t exercise operational control, his name and those actions requested to be carried out in his name carries weight in amongst those who were drawn to Al Qaeda by his father,” Bruen, said. “There may be others who take on leadership roles. It will be a long time, if ever, we see someone who can legitimately claim the legacy of a near-mythical figure like Osama bin Laden. For those engaged in the long fight against extremism, this is a significant symbolic victory.”

As the leader of Al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden and others plotted the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. U.S. Navy SEALs killed him in a raid on a house in Abbottabad, Pakistan in 2011.

There has been no mention of where the body of Hamza is, but we can only hope that he has joined his father in “sleeping with the fishes.”
