Some retail experts say the increasingly hostile pushback from some customers who rebuff the face covering requirements are putting business owners in a no-win position.
“It’s very important for the health and safety of both the employees and the customers,” says Gary Huddleston, Grocery Industry Consultant and spokesperson for the Texas Retailers Association.
And yet, Huddleston admits that employers are not pushing workers to confront those customers who refuse.
“When there’s that confrontation at the front door, it doesn’t turn out very well.”
Over the weekend, one of the latest meltdowns over masks unfolded at a Dallas Fiesta grocery store and it was caught on camera.
A witness tells CBS 11 that the customer had worn a mask into the store; but, then later removed it as she waited in the checkout line.
The woman refused to replace the face covering when a manager approached her and then unleashed a profanity laced tirade, all while flinging her groceries from the cart all over the floor.

“Everything that I’ve heard from the smart people: wear a mask, social distance, and stay out of closed space,” says Tracy Harker while running errands in Dallas in his mask.
He says he doesn’t understand the pushback to taking small measures to protect others. “I’m concerned. I’m old enough that I don’t want to fight it.”
And yet the fight over face coverings isn’t confined to North Texas.
In California, a chain of taco stands decided to close temporarily, citing exhaustion over constant conflicts with guests refusing to wear masks.
The company telling customers in a social media post, “staff have been harassed, called names, and had objects and liquids thrown at them…” Then adding in bold type, “A mask isn’t symbolic of anything other than our desire to keep our staff healthy.”
Cedar Hill Police earlier this month released surveillance video of an as yet unidentified customer who shoved a female employee to the floor after being asked to wear a mask.
If caught, the man is facing an assault charge.
“In the retail business we want to treat customers extremely well and that’s another reason that it’s very difficult for our employees,” says Huddleston.
Some who see no problem with the face coverings believe mixed messaging on the virus threat is to blame.
“When everything reopened, I think everyone was like ‘well, coronavirus doesn’t exist anymore’ because everything’s opening,” adds Larissa Spies, “when in fact, that’s not the case. People just need to be smarter about what they’re doing.”

Our facial recognition cameras are useless when people where masks. Any store owner allowing masks is asking to be robbed.
It’s illegal. We still have a constitution in this country. The masks are dangerous. Minimal research will show this.
Cases going up but deaths going down. A report came out last month that if you are healthy and have no symptoms you should not wear a mask. Get the fucking flu and get over it and the flu will go away !!!!!!!
My personal concern is the face masks are also making people ill. To much breathing in carbon monoxide and our own bacteria from our mouths has created another health issue? Especially for those with copd, asthmatics, and respiratory issues, as well as those with claustrophobia! These are serious concerns that also need to be considered.

The same uneducated brain dead people who resist wearing masks are the ones that accuse President Trump of mismanaging the Coronavirus pandemic. If they are throwing a tantrum in a public place and generally making a nuisance of themselves it’s a sure fire bet that the person is a Democrat. That’s another reason they want to defund the police, so they can reek havoc and commit crimes without fear of arrest. But law abiding citizens are getting fed up and where there is no police to restore peace survival mode will soon kick in.
if you actually do the research before 2020 it is not a great idea to cover your face. anything that can hinder breathing is unacceptable, you aren’t even discussing the side affects of wearing a mask. What about us who can’t breath properly without wearing anything on our face? Some people honestly, can not wear one. and those people should not be shamed. Mask and costume are best understood as a unit and in performance. … Masks usually represent supernatural beings, ancestors, and fanciful or imagined figures, and they can also be portraits. The localization of a particular spirit in a specific mask must be considered a highly significant reason for its existence. The new world order is rising and they don’t want you to be aware of it. wearing a mask does mean things other than you are trying to be safe. this is the narrative, don’t follow it. please do more research before making such outlandish statements.
The thing is that all the rules are so inconsistent. According to dems, it’s to be admired if people, without masks, riot destroy people’s property, block traffic, damage cars, destroy memorials/statues, kill people, and loudly destroy the peace.
But, we are to be shamed if we try to live our lives in peace, like we did prior to March of this year. Like shop, take our kids to the playground, take a walk, and go to church. Even going to get our health care is now an undesirable chore. They act like we are contaminated. People are putting off getting their health taken care of, because of these ‘rules to protect’, others. We all know that basically it’s a political move, by the dems, yet there isn’t much we are allowed to do about it because fear is a powerful motivator. The USA was a free country, but now, the enemy has overtaken. Is it going to be this way, just until Nov.? Probably not. When President Trump wins, the dems will dig in even worse. If some dem wins, it won’t change to the better, because their motive is to change it all to something so bad, most of us can’t even imagine. We really need to pray, pray, pray like we never have before. Only GOD can save us now.

First of all, the information we get is not correct. When a person tests positive for the virus, all contacts are counted as cases, too. That could up the count 10 times for every person who has it. Probable cases are not always covid 19 cases. Tell the truth or stop reporting anything about the illness. Most people know that the public is being lied to. Second, this is America. That means that as an American you agree to take risks because freedom is not safe. I am free to decide whether to wear a mask or not. The contact at a grocery store is less than 10 minutes, which is the time it takes to infect someone. Third, masks are not going to keep anyone from getting the virus. The left knows that masks scare people, so they encourage it to get more support for their ideas and candidates.
The problem is that we have too many experts giving mixed messages. However, lately “most” of the experts seem to agree that masks do little or no good for healthy people. They now tell us that only those who are infected should be wearing masks. I for one, have yet to wear a mask and have no intention of doing so because this Fuchi guy strikes me as being a self-centered guy with a controller personality. He has already been proven to be a bald-faced liar on several occasions. Lie to me once and I stop listening!
It doesnt help that many store lie with signs that say there is a law requiring a mask to enter, it is ONLY advisory !
No it’s not a law, not everywhere anyway. But it is a small thing to ask you to do TO SAVE LIVES! And it is their store so they can refuse entry. For example no shoes, no entry, no shirt, no entry, no clothes, no entry, no mask, no entry. What is the problem?
