If you think I mean President Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden – if he be the Democrat nominee – that answer is probably “yes.” However, the headline does not refer to those two. It refers to the sons – Eric Trump and Hunter Biden.
Eric recently challenged Hunter to a debate. He thinks it would clear the air regarding a number of issues relating to the offspring of the candidates. He is probably correct.
It would put the news media in a bit of a spot. Their partisan political bias has been especially obvious in the coverage of the “kids,” as they say. News anchors, reporters and those panels of bobblehead “contributors” have been very quick to spin negative stories about the Trump children –including the in-laws. Conversely, they have literally provided cover for Hunter Biden – even falsely reporting that accusations about Hunter’s activities in Ukraine have been debunked.
According to media reports, Eric Trump and his siblings – as well as the President himself – have greatly profited from his presidency. They even claim that the President is in violation of the so-called “emoluments clause” of the Constitution because the Trump Organizations is still a viable company.
According to the anti-Trump narrative, every time a foreign guest stays at a Trump Hotel or golfs at a Trump resort, Trump is personally profiting. Of course, that is nonsense – political puppy poop. There is no reason why a major business – like the Trump organization – has to shut down just because the principle leaves to serve in public office.
Eric points out that the Trump Organization has been financially hurt by the Trump presidency. As a means of political protest, several organizations have cancelled or failed to re-book at Trump properties.
More importantly, the Trump Organization has voluntarily withdrawn from any new overseas business – which was a major growth area for the company before the Trump presidency. That much maligned “deal” for a Trump Tower in Moscow – that was being negotiated during the campaign — was aborted when Trump won the presidency.
Eric is more than eager to put the facts on the table at what would be a highly watched event. But what about Hunter?
He would have to do something he has avoided so far. Answering a lot of tough questions regarding his peculiar deal with a corrupt company headed by one of the major corrupt oligarchs. How did he get that job despite his obvious gross lack of qualifications? What did he do for that exorbitant compensation of more than $1 million per year for a job that did not require his presence? What did he know about the company’s corrupt dealings? Did Daddy Biden play any role in making certain “instructions” as he did in China? And what about Hunter’s HUGE China deal?
Far from being debunked, the Hunter issue is profuse with serious unanswered questions. A public debate between Hunter and Eric may not answer those questions completely, but it would most certainly put them in fine focus for the American public – and could trigger calls for a real investigation.
And that, folks, is why there will be no debate between the boys. Pity.
So, there ‘tis.
