Iran Claims to Have Broken Up US Spy Ring

As tensions between the US, or allies such as Great Britain, and Iran mount Iranian officials in Iran claim to have dismantled a CIA lead spy ring.

During a recent and unusual press conference in Tehran, an Iranian official said that their investigation and roundup of 17 people charged with espionage was completed at the end of March.

The official was identified only as the director of the counterespionage department of Iran’s Intelligence Ministry, which was also highly unusual in Iran, as officials usually identify themselves at press conferences.

“The identified spies were employed in sensitive and vital private sector centers in the economic, nuclear, infrastructural, military and cyber areas…where they collected classified information,” said a ministry statement read on state television.

Trump: No Truth to the Reports

President Trump tweeted that the claims are entirely false, and part of Iran’s’ deep propaganda campaign against the US and our allies.

The tweet, which also mentioned an Iranian drone shot down by the U.S. Navy last week after the unmanned vehicle wandered too close to the USS Boxer, echoed comments made earlier by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and cast Tehran as flailing amid tough U.S. sanctions that threatened to strangle its economy.

“The Report of Iran capturing CIA spies is totally false. Zero truth,” Trump wrote. “Just more lies and propaganda (like their shot down drone) put out by a Religious Regime that is Badly Failing and has no idea what to do. Their Economy is dead, and will get much worse. Iran is a total mess!”

Pompeo, while not commenting directly on the spy report, advised caution and noted Iran has a history of lying.

“I can’t add much to it specifically,” Pompeo told “Fox & Friends” on Monday morning. “I would urge everyone who’s reading that story that the Iranian regime has a long history of lying. They lied about where they shot down the American UAV, they now lied about where they took down this tanker. It’s part of the nature of the Ayatollah to lie to the world. I would take with a significant grain of salt any Iranian assertion of Iranian actions taken. ”

Pictures of some of the alleged spies were reportedly shown on state TV, which also broadcast a documentary purporting to show a CIA officer recruiting an Iranian in the United Arab Emirates.

Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency was the first organization to report on the matter, according to Reuters. The identities of those arrested were not immediately known.

According to the Associated Press, the U.S. has increased its military presence in the Persian Gulf region in recent weeks after it alleged provocative moves by Tehran that included attacks on two oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, the downing of a U.S. drone and the seizure of a British tanker.

If it weren’t for the innocent people in Iran I’d tell the President to turn it into a piece of glass (sand at high temperatures turns to glass).

I personally don’t at all believe one word of what Iran is claiming! However, what I can say with great certainty is that Iran is only seeking attention from the world community! And, believe me they’ll say almost anything at this point in time to get out from under the rock that they have put themselves in!

Should’ve bombed the shit out of them back in ‘79. But because our failure to do so by our past administrations namely the carter administration. We have now seen the results of not carrying out what we should’ve done by smashing those bastards without prejudice. And to think that Barry hussane obama gave them billions and billions of cash because we forfeited sale of US jets after their regime change from the Shaw of iran to the pos now makes me sick. President Trump 2020

The crap coming out of the WH is something that you would expect from CNN and all the other US news outlets. Let’s begin with the US lies that have caused hundreds of thousands of deaths and injuries, the Korean War, Vietnam War, Cuban Bay of Pigs, South and Central American regime change interventions,Iraq War, Afghanistan War to avenge 9/11, when you should have been looking at the inside job and Israel. The Libyan fiasco, the Syrian War after arming the rebels. Now you lie about Iran causing all the trouble when you know that it is you who have caused every problem in the world since the UK left you to your own devices.
You were cowboys then and you still are today.when you eventually build a border wall with Mexico, continue across Canada/ US down the East Coast through the Gulf to join up with the start of the wall and then praise be to God, there might not be any more wars with US killings within your own country.
The American people are the friendliest you could ever meet but are stupid when it comes to politics and responsibility.
    My case rests.
